Cleaning

In your eyes, when I ask you to clean I might as well be asking you to poke your eyeballs out or worse. You think that I am completely torturing you by making you clean up your toys. You immediately tell me how tired you are and how much you don't like cleaning. This keeps up the entire time we are cleaning, but luckily for you I don't back down. I know that it is my job as a mother to teach you the importance of cleaning. I am just trying to help you become a great father some day. Every once in a great while I see a glimpse of you as you pick up a toy the first time you are asked. And while this is the exception rather than the rule, I know that there is hope and I won't give up. I want you to know that I believe in you and you will be a great husband and father some day. I love you, Brigham!

Fred Flinstone

Last Thursday you got to go with Daddy to track practice without Brooklyn and Talmage. You thought you were just the coolest thing ever. You sure look up to the wheelchair racers and are so observant of their every move. You even pretend to be paralyzed when getting in and out of the wheelchair. You will transfer from the chair to the bed and not use your legs at all. I am amazed at how observant you are.

Daddy was telling me that while you were at practice that you love getting the small orange racing chair and race up and down the track. Although you don't actually get IN the chair you just put your legs across the bar and then run with it. It reminds everyone of Fred Flinstone's car. You crack us all up. Next time I need to send the camera with dad so we can have a picture :).

Wheelchair Races

I had so much fun with you this morning during our "workout." After playing soccer for a while you decided that it was time to beat me in basketball--wheelchair basketball of course. Even though I watch you everyday in the wheelchair, I am still amazed by you. You have amazing control of the chair and you are getting so good a pop-a-wheelies. Much better than me that's for sure. It was fun laughing and playing with you. The basketball game soon turned wheelchair races. I am a bit embarrassed to say, but you can beat me (and all of the neighborhood boys who are older than you). You especially like cutting me off and would laugh every time you did it. I sure love your smile. I can't help to smile when I look at you. You are a special kid, Brigham and you bring so much love and laughter to our home. I love you!

UFC Fight

So you just came up to me and put me in a rear naked choke. What 3 year old knows how to do that? And then you proceed to say, "I have my shirt off because I am UFC fighting." You crack me up!

Where's My Afro?

I still really can't believe that your hair is gone. We took you to the barber last Saturday for the first time. I was hoping that he could just give you a haircut, but your hair was so matted together that he had to shave it off. It was all I could do to not sit there and cry, but I didn't want to upset you so I didn't. You didn't like the idea of a haircut, but you sat there and let them do it. And once they gave you a sucker you were fine.

I can't get over how much older you look. It is funny because you keeping rubbing your head and asking where your afro is. Sometimes you say you like it because the hair doesn't get in your face but then in the next breath you are asking if it has grown back yet. Funny guy!

It is only hair right? I keep telling myself that it will grow back. Daddy absolutely loves it and wishes I would keep it short. I like your afro because it is so unique and is just so you. I guess only time will tell what happens.

Growing Up

So there are those moments when you literally grow up right before my eyes. Right now is one of those moments. I swear one minute you were asleep and the next minute you were talking to me like you were 5 and I just can't get over it. We just sat and ate lunch together and you were telling me about the dinosaurs in your room. You were also telling me how quiet you had been so that I could take a nap. And then you said, "Yep, I am growing up, Mom." How cute is that?! Even though I am sad that you are growing up so much. I want you to stay my cute cuddly boy forever.

Then we walked into my office where you saw pictures of fireworks on the screen. I quickly looked at them and was trying to move on when you piped up and said "go back to those fireworks. Let's talk about them." You proceeded to talk about seeing the fireworks at Josh's house a few days ago. Seriously, you are just too cute and have THE cutest smile I have ever seen. I sure love spending some one on one time with you.

Ok, you are begging to watch cartoons now with me so I better run because I can't pass up cuddle time with my boy. I could sit and look at your cute smile the rest of the day and be one happy mama.
